Scientists are villagers with a job: a Cosmic Treadmill is their workstation, the way a lectern is a librarian's. Each treadmill employs one villager, who works and restocks there. Break it before trading and the villager loses the job.

One in twenty scientists is Silas Stone.

Each scientist offers 5 trades picked at random from a pool of 15, fixed the first time you open its trades. Electrolytic Solution and Gamma Samples are in the same pool, so check several scientists. Each offer has a limited number of uses (3 to 8) and restocks at the treadmill. Scientists never level up. Silas Stone has the same pool.

Electrolytic Solution can be obtained by trading Cosmic Debris, Kryptonite, Alien Tech, Netherite Ingots, or Skeleton Skulls with Silas Stone or a S.T.A.R. Labs Scientist.

Gamma Samples can be obtained by trading Vibranium, White Dwarf Star Alloy Ingots, or Raw Thunder Infused Rock with Silas Stone or a S.T.A.R. Labs Scientist.
